About PropCrab

No moon, no hype. Just the rules, compared.

PropCrab puts prop firm rules side by side: price, drawdown, consistency rule, payouts. Every value comes with a source and a date, so you see what you are signing up for before you buy.

A crab market moves sideways. That is about as much hype as you get here.

What PropCrab does

  • Rules, not marketing copy. We read the firms' websites, help centres and terms and collect the rules per programme and account size.
  • Every value with a source and a date. Next to each figure it says where it comes from and when we confirmed it there. When a firm changes a rule, it says from which purchase date the new version applies.
  • Gaps stay visible. What we could not confirm appears as "–" with a reason. Unknown never counts as 0, neither in a comparison nor in a calculator.
  • No overall score, no third-party stars. Lists sort by one measurable figure you choose. Commission and partner status never sort.
  • Calculate with your numbers. Eight calculators show cost and break-even, drawdown, the consistency rule, position size, payout after split, cost per 1,000 buffer and the cost of further attempts. None of them computes chances of success.

Dataset today: 44 firms with 192 programmes.

Why this is needed

Two challenges at the same price can be very different. Drawdown type, consistency rule and payout conditions decide what an account ends up costing you and when a payout is possible at all.

These rules are often scattered across help articles, and they can change. We put them side by side and note from when each version applies.

At most firms the account after passing is simulated too. We say so for every programme and put "funded" in quotes.

What PropCrab is not

  • Not investment or financial advice. We show rules and calculate with your numbers. Whether a challenge suits you is your decision.
  • Not a prop firm. We sell no challenges, run no accounts and pay out nothing. You always buy from the firm, on its terms.
  • Not a regulator. PropCrab holds no licence and does not check firms on behalf of any authority. The methodology links the regulators' registers and warning lists.
  • No promise of income. A challenge costs a fee that is usually lost when a rule is broken. Simulated profits are not income.

How we work

Which figures sort, how we calculate them, which sources count and when a value counts as out of date is set out, versioned and dated, in the methodology.

How we sort

Found a mistake?

A wrong figure is the most useful feedback we can get. Send it with a source; we check it against the firm's own source and correct it with a new date.
