Enter your trading days and see where the loss limit sits – static, trailing at end of day or intraday, with or without a lock.

The same 10% loss limit can feel completely different. What matters is how the limit trails.

Assumption: within a day the high comes before the low. That is the worst case for a trailing limit.

Note: A calculation aid using your own assumptions. Not investment advice and not a forecast of success: simulated profits are not income, and most challenges are not passed. The firm's rules that actually apply to your account govern.

How this is calculated

Static

The floor stays at the starting balance minus the loss limit. Profits widen your distance to the floor.

Trailing at end of day

After each trading day the floor moves up: highest end-of-day balance minus the loss limit. It never moves down. Profits therefore raise the floor too, and your room never exceeds the limit.

Trailing intraday

The floor follows the highest point during the day, open profits included. A trade that is in profit first and then closes flat may already have pushed the floor up. The calculator assumes the day's high comes before its low – the worst case.

Lock

Many futures firms stop trailing once the floor reaches a set level, for example the starting balance. The exact rule is on the firm profile; pick the matching one here.
