Your dashboard shows a profit. Less of it reaches your bank account, and often later than you thought. In between sit the profit split, fees, possibly a currency conversion deduction, minimums, caps, waiting periods and an identity check. This guide goes through each stop in turn, with what the firms say on their own pages and in the PropCrab firm profiles.
First things first: you trade a simulated account. FTMO writes that its traders trade with simulated capital only and receive a reward once they make a profit and meet all objectives and terms[1]. So you are not withdrawing a balance of your own: the firm pays you an amount under its own rules.
How a payout works
The flow is similar at the firms here: close all positions and orders, request in the dashboard, review by the firm, payment by the method you chose. FTMO, Blue Guardian, The5ers and Goat Funded Trader explicitly require an account with no open positions[1][2][3][4]. At FTMO the review takes 1–2 business days, and payment is typically sent 1–2 business days after the invoice is approved[1].
A few rules to know before you click:
- Blue Guardian puts the account into read-only mode after the request until the payout is approved[2].
- At Goat Funded Trader each request covers your full profit; partial withdrawals exist only on Instant Daily. Once you have requested, your payout method is locked[4].
- The5ers does not split a payout between two methods[3].
A payout lowers your balance; your loss limit does not necessarily move with it. On the FTMO Instant Account the Maximum Loss Limit does not reset on a withdrawal[1]. E8 Markets advises leaving a buffer on some products, because the amount paid out is deducted from the account and your drawdown limits may otherwise suffer[5]. The drawdown calculator shows where your limit sits afterwards; the guide to drawdown types explains the rules.
Payout methods: bank, Rise, Wise, crypto
Which methods exist depends on the firm and often on your country:
| Firm | Payout methods per the firm profile |
|---|---|
| FTMO | bank wire, Visa Direct / Mastercard Send, Skrill, crypto[15] |
| The5ers | Rise, crypto, bank transfer; alternatively Hub credit (not withdrawable)[16] |
| Goat Funded Trader | Rise, crypto, Skrill; bank transfer in eight African countries only; account in your own name[17] |
| Alpha Futures | ACH (US only), wire, SWIFT, Wise, Rise; all payments in USD[18] |
| Tradeify | Rise (from there by bank/ACH or crypto); Plane only if Rise is unavailable in your country or declined you; no PayPal[19] |
| E8 Markets | via WorkMarket (bank), Rise or Aeropay (US only); no direct crypto payout[20] |
| Blue Guardian | crypto, Rise[21] |
| City Traders Imperium | bank transfer (USD) or crypto (USDT, TRC20), only to accounts in your own name[22] |
| BrightFunded | crypto, bank transfer[23] |
Rise (also RiseWorks) is a payment provider between the firm and you. At Tradeify, per its guide, the payout lands in your Rise wallet within 24 to 48 hours of approval; from there you withdraw by bank (ACH, 1–3 business days) or in crypto. The Rise account needs an ID, a selfie and a tax number; the "Receive Payments" account is free[6].
WorkMarket and Aeropay are used by E8 Markets, Aeropay for US clients only. After your request you get an invitation to WorkMarket or Rise; if you cannot get through their checks, there is no payout[5].
Wise is one of Alpha Futures' methods, next to ACH, wire, SWIFT and Rise; all payments are made in USD[7].
Deel is not listed as a payout method in any PropCrab firm profile. A case from September 2023 shows that a payment provider can drop out: per the trade site Finance Magnates, Deel suspended payouts to several prop firms after it came under the scrutiny of the US regulator CFTC over its links to My Forex Funds, which the CFTC had taken action against[8]. How that case ended is in the guide when a firm closes.
Crypto usually arrives faster than a bank transfer, according to Tradeify and E8 Markets[6][5], but there is no way back. More on that below.
Fees, credit and currency conversion
| Firm | Fees and limits per method |
|---|---|
| FTMO | no additional fees on reward withdrawals[24] |
| E8 Markets | no fee of its own; the payment providers may charge one depending on the method[5] |
| Tradeify | no payout fee stated; the Rise receiving account is free per the Rise guide[25] |
| The Trading Pit | 1% on your reward share[26] |
| Blue Guardian | 3% processing fee on all payouts; crypto at most USD 1,000 per request[27] |
| Goat Funded Trader | 3%, calculated after the profit split and deductions; maximum per payout: Rise no limit, bank USD 10,000, Skrill USD 5,000, crypto USD 3,000[28] |
| The5ers | 3.5% per withdrawal via Rise, crypto or bank (plus bank fees); crypto at most USD 1,500; Hub credit without commission[29] |
| City Traders Imperium | crypto as USDT (TRC20) only: 5%, at most USD 1,000 a month; no fee named for bank transfers[30] |
| Take Profit Trader | USD 50 on wallet withdrawals of USD 250 or less, none above; you bear PayPal fees[31] |
| FundedNext | you bear the transfer gateway's charges[32] |
What matters is the base. Goat Funded Trader charges its fee on the amount after the profit split and deductions[4]. Blue Guardian writes that, because of its fee, the amount you receive may differ slightly from the one on your payout certificate[2].
Worked example: suppose your simulated account shows a profit of 1,000 and your split is 80%. That leaves 800. If the firm takes its fee only after that, as Goat Funded Trader does, a 3% fee[28] takes 24 and leaves 776. On the same base, 3.5% as at The5ers[29] would leave 772 and 5% as for crypto at CTI[30] 760; neither of these two firms states its base explicitly on the pages cited here. If your bank then converts into francs or euros, its exchange rate comes on top. The payout calculator works it out with your own numbers.
Credit instead of cash. Instead of a payout, The5ers offers Hub credit without commission; it can only be used to buy new accounts[3]. At FTMO you can take the reward, in whole or in part, as FTMO Points: one point is worth 1 EUR, can only be spent at FTMO and its affiliates and cannot be exchanged for cash[1].
Currency conversion: the FTMO deduction
With the Trading Update of 28 July 2026, FTMO announced a 0.7% adjustment on realised P&L when the instrument's profit currency differs from the account currency[33]. The deduction is made when each affected trade closes, not at payout. A profit gets smaller, a loss bigger. When it starts to apply to your account depends on your product stage and is stated in your agreement[9].
FTMO's own examples: on a EUR account the deduction applies to GBP/USD, because the profit currency is USD; on a USD account it applies to GER40.cash (profit currency EUR), but not to US100.cash (USD). You find the profit currency in your platform's symbol specifications[9].
Worked example: suppose a GER40.cash trade closes on a USD account with a profit of 500. After the 0.7% deduction[9], 496.50 is left. If it closes with a loss of 500, the loss becomes 503.50.
No other PropCrab firm profile records a deduction like this; that only means PropCrab has not found one. If a firm pays in USD, like Alpha Futures[7] or CTI[10], your bank or payment provider converts into your currency.
Minimums and caps
| Firm, programme | Minimum | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| FTMO Challenge 2-Step | USD 20[34] for bank and card, USD 50 for crypto[1] | limits are stated per method: Visa Direct / Mastercard Send up to USD 20,000, Skrill up to USD 3,000[1] |
| The5ers Hyper Growth | USD 150[35] | at most USD 2,000 per payout cycle[36] |
| Goat Funded Trader, 1 Step | USD 100[37] | the first two payouts at most 6% of the initial balance or USD 10,000, whichever is lower, no cap afterwards; daily profit at most USD 3,000[38] |
| Blue Guardian, 2 Step Standard | USD 100[39] via crypto, USD 500 via Rise[2] | crypto USD 1,000 per request, Rise no limit[2] |
| E8 Markets | USD 100 after the split, so USD 125 of profit at an 80% split[5] | not stated on the payout page[5] |
| Topstep Trading Combine (Standard Path) | USD 125[40] | at most 50% of the balance; 50K USD 2,000 (Standard) or 3,000 (Consistency), 150K USD 5,000 or 6,000; no cap in the “Live Funded Account”[41] |
| Alpha Futures, Standard Account | USD 500[42] | at most 50% of profit; 50K USD 3,000, 100K USD 4,000, 150K USD 5,000[43] |
| Tradeify Growth, 25K account | USD 250[44] | always USD 1,000[45] |
Two things stand out. First, it matters whether the minimum applies before or after the split: at E8 Markets and on The5ers High Stakes it applies to the amount after the split[5][11]. Second, some firms cap the profit itself: Goat Funded Trader counts at most USD 3,000 of profit per trading day on “funded” accounts[38]. The values apply per programme and often per account size; check your size in your firm's profile.
When the first payout comes
| Firm, programme | First payout per the firm profile |
|---|---|
| FTMO Challenge 2-Step | request on the 14th day after the first trade on the account, or later[46] |
| The5ers High Stakes (New) | 14 days after the “funded” account is activated[47] |
| Blue Guardian, 2 Step Standard | at the earliest 14 calendar days after the first trade (7 with an add-on)[48] |
| FundedNext Stellar 2-Step | 21 days after receiving the FundedNext Account[49] |
| FundedNext Stellar 1-Step | 5 business days after receiving the FundedNext Account[50] |
| BrightFunded 2-Step Classic | 30 days after the first trade on the “funded” account[51] |
| E8 Markets, E8 One | at the earliest 3 days after the performance stage starts[52] |
| Topstep Trading Combine (Standard Path) | after 5 winning days of at least USD 150 each (Standard path)[53] |
| Take Profit Trader, PRO account | from day one on the PRO account, once the buffer (= max drawdown) is reached[54] |
The waiting period is a floor. Minimum profitable days, consistency rules and the firm's review come on top. At Goat Funded Trader the 2-business-day processing window for the first payout only starts once your KYC is complete; weekends and public holidays do not count[4]. E8 Markets gives medians for 1 January to 1 May 2026 of 11 hours to approval and 24 hours until the money reaches Rise or WorkMarket, but also writes that it can take up to 5 business days, and that payouts are not processed at weekends[5]. These are the firm's figures, not times PropCrab measured.
Fee refunds come with a payout
Many firms advertise a refundable fee. Where the firms in the table name a refund at all, the fee comes back with a payout, so only if you get that far.
| Firm, programme | Fee refund per the firm profile |
|---|---|
| FTMO Challenge 2-Step | with the first payout[55] |
| FTMO Challenge 1-Step | none[56] |
| FTMO Instant Account | none[57] |
| The5ers High Stakes (New) | part of it with the first payout[58] |
| FundedNext Stellar 2-Step | with the first reward[59] |
| FundedNext Stellar 1-Step | with a later payout, the third[60] |
| Maven Trading, Standard 2-Step | with the third withdrawal[61] |
| The Trading Pit, CFD Prime | with a later payout[62] |
| Goat Funded Trader, 1 Step | with the fourth payout on the account[63] |
| Tradeify Growth | none, all sales are final[64] |
| E8 Markets | no fee refund with the first payout; crypto payments not refundable[65] |
The details are in the small print:
- FTMO refunds the 2-Step fee once you request your first reward, using the payment method you bought with[12].
- The5ers adds the refundable fee to the equity of your “funded” account. You get 70% of it with your first payout if you have made at least USD 150 of profit and the account has been active for at least 14 days; 10% and 20% come earlier as Hub credit after Step 1 and Step 2. Parts paid with Hub credit do not count[11].
- The Trading Pit refunds after the third payout for purchases from 29 April 2026, after the first for older ones[62].
- City Traders Imperium ties the refund to a profit milestone rather than a payout: 1-Step and 2-Step: fee refunded 100% once the “funded” account first reaches 10% profit[66].
- Alpha Futures: none (“All sales are final”); exception: a refund if you fail the KYC screening[67].
None of this is the right of withdrawal or a refund before your first trade; the checklist before you buy covers those. What the fee costs you until a first payout is worked out by the challenge cost calculator.
KYC before the money
For the firms in this list: no identity verification (KYC), no payout. When it comes differs:
- FTMO: after all evaluation objectives are met (1-Step, 2-Step), on the Instant Account at the first reward request[71].
- Goat Funded Trader: only at the first payout request, via Veriff or Rise[72].
- Tradeify: before the first payout (ID and selfie), plus a separate check with the payout provider Rise[73].
- Alpha Futures: before the Qualified Account is issued and before payouts, possible in advance at any time[74].
Often the payment provider checks you too. At E8 Markets, after the invitation, you sign agreements with WorkMarket or Rise, fill in tax information and may have to provide proof of address[5]. At Goat Funded Trader the check runs through Veriff for crypto, Skrill and bank, and on Rise itself for Rise payouts[4].
The name has to match. At Goat Funded Trader the name on the payout account must match the one on your GFT account, and the payout address must not be used on any other GFT account[4]. CTI pays only to accounts in your own name[22]; on Rise you enter your name exactly as it appears on your ID[6].
Crypto only: no way back
Crypto is capped at several firms: at Blue Guardian at USD 1,000 per request[2], at The5ers at USD 1,500 per withdrawal in USDT, USDC, ETH or LTC[3], at CTI at USD 1,000 a month, in USDT only and not for traders in Vietnam[10]. BrightFunded pays crypto as USDC (ERC-20)[23], E8 Markets not directly at all[5].
Why it matters: a crypto transfer typically cannot be reversed. The US consumer agency FTC says cryptocurrency payments typically are not reversible, and you can usually only get your money back if the person you paid sends it back. Credit and debit cards have legal protections if something goes wrong; crypto payments typically do not[13]. The European Consumer Centre Germany names a credit or debit card payment as the condition for a chargeback[14].
For your payout this means: if it goes to a wrong wallet address, it is usually lost. CTI accepts TRC20 addresses only and, per its own page, is not responsible for funds lost to a wrong address[10]. At purchase the same applies the other way round: E8 Markets and MyFundedFutures do not refund a challenge paid in crypto[65][68].
And a card chargeback can cost you the account. Tradeify: a chargeback leads to a permanent ban and forfeiture of pending payouts[69]. Goat Funded Trader: chargebacks lead to a permanent ban[70]. When a chargeback may still be an option, for instance when a firm closes, is covered in the guide when a firm closes.
Before your first request
- 1Check the payout methods for your country, ideally one without crypto.
- 2Note the fee per method and its base: before or after the split.
- 3Compare your account currency with the profit currency of your instruments.
- 4Read the minimum, cap and waiting period for your programme and account size.
- 5Do your KYC early; the name and payout account must match your firm account.
- 6Check the distance to your loss limit after the payout in the drawdown calculator.
- 7Work out the net amount in the payout calculator.
- 8Check the wallet address and network twice.
- 9Save the request, the confirmation and the incoming payment as a screenshot or PDF.
Not investment advice. This guide explains rules and terms. It recommends no firm and no challenge. Prop firm accounts are usually simulated accounts.
